HEAD START Head Start and Early Head Start are national child development programs which provide comprehensive development services for low-income children and social services for their families. CLiF has partnered with many Head Start programs to help inspire a love of reading and writing in the children and their families. A CLiF Head Start sponsorship includes: Books for an On-Site Library: CLiF donates a collection of new high-quality children’s books to create a roving library that can be made accessible to children at Head Start events. Books for Children to Keep: Each Head Start child will be able to select some new children’s books from a large collection that CLiF brings to the special storytelling event. Storytelling Presentation: CLiF representatives travel to Head Start site to meet with the children and families, deliver new books, tell stories, and talk about the joys of words, books and reading. While providing a fun and inspiring presentation for the children, CLiF is also modeling storytelling techniques for all the families who attend and encouraging the families to read together.
